Microchipping is available at Arthur Lodge all year round for the amazing price of just £19.99. Don’t panic! The microchipping procedure really is simple and pain-free for your animal. A tiny microchip, the size of a grain of rice, is inserted under the animal’s skin via an injection. It is the most effective way to ensure that your pet is returned to you, should it go missing for any reason. The microchip lists your details and these are subsequently added to the PetLog database, meaning that you can prove that you are the rightful owner of your pet.
If a missing animal is found, it will be scanned as soon as possible increasing your chance of a quick reunion. Should your animal be involved in a road accident, a microchip means that the vet can contact you if further treatment is required as consent is often needed. What’s more, a microchip can deter thieves as the animal will, of course, be harder to sell on. It is important to get a microchip tag so that people are aware that your animal is microchipped.
